The boys moved into a new workshop last week and we decided a celebratory braai was required. We all met there after work on Monday for the braai on our soon to be boat-braai and had plenty of laughs as Rufus showed us some funky dance moves and Wilhelm transformed into a 'scoop' horned buck thing - Entertainment for the week :)

Ruf spent the weekend preparing for the installation of the new water tanks which should be ready by the end of the week! Bloody good job, the bilge is looking sweet!
Most of the components for the DC distribution board have been
sourced. The next step is to send the panel drawings off for laser
cutting. The alluminium panel will then be anodised black and all the
components mounted in position. Below are a few pics of Wilhelm with
his components, what the finished product hopefully will resemble and
a drawing for laser cutting.

The long weekend got off to a good start, with the cabins nearing completion. The sanding and painting is almost done! Next step: cabin doors and, finally, the mattresses. Rufus is currently working on molds for the new plastic water tanks, as the original steel tanks were removed due to age. Wilhelm is in charge of the electrics and wiring etc so soon the boat will be operational!

After completing the majority of the structure in both cabins, this week we bought our first layer of internal paint, a lovely reward after all the hard work the boys have been putting in. Over the weekend lots of sanding, filling and painting was done and we ended the weekend in high spirits with a visit from Janneman and Robyn and an awesome evening at Bertie's Mooring, the local restaurant/pub at the end of the jetty.

Chris and Carla came along to help this Saturday bearing gifts of ice cold Darling Brew - they are our favourite people in the world. After a long day of stripping the heads and working away at our cabins the beers were thoroughly enjoyed on deck on a beautiful summers evening. Hint: Cold beers are always welcome!
